Beauty: The Dark Side

March 29, 2016

I mixed things up a little in my recent outfit post, well with my make up that is! I opted for a darker lip and as it’s something a little different for me, I thought I’d share with you what I’ve wearing to create this look.

Skin: I’m wearing Chanel MAT Lumière Powder, in 50 Poudrè as my foundation base. I then defined my cheeks with my Sleek Face Contour Kit, in Fair and dusting over of Topshop’s highlighter Sunbeam.

Eyes:
I used Topshop eye shadow in colour Naked as a base coat. Then layering my Chanel Eye Palette over the top: using the oyster gold colour in the corners nearest my nose and the bronzed shade on the outer edges of my lids and in the crease line. Using the CatRICE Cosmetics eyeliner pen, (which I picked up from Primark in Dublin) I did a thin layer on the outer eyelash line on the upper lid. Then using MAC Pro Longwear eyeliner in the water line of my eyes and a good coating of Benefits Bad Gal Lash to finish off.

Lips: After priming them with lip balm and leaving to soak in I’m then ready to apply my lippie. I went with my MAC lipstick, in colour Dark Side applying two layers.

Annnnd this completes my Dark Side look, named after my lippie. I do enjoy mixing it up and swapping the bold red lip for a darker shade, maybe it’s time to add a couple more different shades into my lipstick collection!? Which lip colours can’t you live with out and what brands are your favorite?img_2645img_2650img_2649img_2648Products used in this look –

Great colour palette. The shading is showing your cheekbones to great effect.

I have to recognize that I still didn’t use any lipstick from MAC, since I’m pretty happy with mines, that are from Rimmel and Maybelline, although they are quite cheaper haha.

If the cheaper brands work don’t knock them! I have a couple of Topshop lipsticks but haven’t had a Rimmel one for some time, maybe this weekend I’ll have a mooch and see what shade they have to offer!
