Exploring Margates Old Town

If you’re visiting Margate my number one must see is Dreamland, this beautiful retro theme park is the perfect way to spend a day!

Then I’d recommend taking a walk along the sea front towards the old town to explore vintage and antique stores, with plenty of places to stop and refuel for more mooching around.margate_008margate_052

2. Glory Day’s Vintage Co.

This charming little store stocks all kinds of vintage clothing and accessories for men and ladies. With plenty of curios and collectables items and even small items of furniture, this little Aladdin’s cave is full to the brim and well worth a peek in! Check out their Facebook page here.

We stopped off at this adorable cafe for a cuppa and a slice of cake – in fact this place was so charming it’s getting it’s own post, which will be up next week so keep an eye out, in the meantime check out their site). If you like cake, tea or coffee this place is for you and it’s ever so cute inside!

The Shop, which is directly next door to its parent The Cupcake Cafe, sells a mixture of homeware and baking utensils and equipment. This shop was exciting to explore and wish I’d had more time to rummage around, with so many things I want to buy I will 100% be heading back here in the very near future! Check out their site here.

I mean, how could I not visit this store?! This was probably my favorite store we visited and I’m defiantly heading back to buy Coco’s Christmas presents from here!
This Margate based doggie brand is making stylish, quality, fashion forward products for you and your dog, all designed and made in Britain. The selection they offer in-store will rival any main-chain high street store! Visit them on Facebook here!

This super compact vintage store is stocking the best in hand picked American and European vintage threads, I’d say they mainly specailse in men’s apparel with the odd gem for us ladies, worth a mooch as the staff are very friendly and as you can see it’s hugely popular, with great price’s! Is a great indepenadant art, gifts, accessories and homeware shop. They also stock vintage furniture and is a treasure trove of all things cute, perfect place to start you’re Christmas shopping! Visit their Facebook page for more info.

This antiques and vintage store is a true gem, it has every thing from vintage suitcases, chest of draws and a wonderful selection of retro film cameras – this defiantly caught our attention! The store is full to the brim of delightful treasures and well worth a visit. Check out their facebook page for more.

This quirky tea shop is you’re one stop shop for all things tea related. Selling specialist loose tea’s, with the odd token coffee (just so those coffee drinkers aren’t left out 😉 ) See more info over here.

This shop is over flowing with retro delights and will not disappoint vintage lovers! The store is founded by three friends and has a lovely story behind their friendship, to read all about it visit their site

Madam Popoff Vintage has an eclectic range of quality vintage clothing ranging from 20’s flapper dresses, 70’s Ossie Clark, and 50’s prom dresses to 90’s
grunge and 60’s Mod with everything fabulous in between.

Before heading back to London we popped for dinner at Great British Pizza Co. The pizza’s are real tasty and super thin. I opted for chicken, BBQ and red onions, Dave went for chorizo & chilli  (his fovorite) and Clare (Dave’s sister) went for the classic Margate-rita… see what they’ve done there 🙂
the staff are super friendly, the decor is totally instagramable and lust worthy, I’d love a living room like this!

    It’s funny how vintage is everywhere but I seem incapable of finding it anywhere. I should look closer haha, these shots look absolutely stunning!
