Flying Fashionably…

The holiday season is in full swing and with the school’s broken up for the summer it’s time to think about a trip abroad. I’ve been lucky enough to have two holidays already this year – a city break to NYC and the other a beach holiday to Salou – both very different types of holidays and both very different length flights.

I find planning and packing for a holiday to be great fun, the buzz of buying new swimsuits, buying holiday bits and bobs that can be mixed and matched to create new outfits. The thing that I find the most challenging is what does one wear to travel in? Do I opt for comfort or style, or both? I try and combine the two the best I can, I was challenged by Purple Parking to share with you my tips and some outfit ideas for flying fashionably.

My Top Tips –

Airplanes can be cold think about layering up with a jumper and wooly socks, I often pack these in my hand luggage.
Beach holidays – pack a swimsuit in you’re hand luggage, heaven forbid you’re case doesn’t arrive with you; you can still enjoy your first day of holiday by the pool. This nearly happened to me while heading out to Salou, thanks to the check out guy being dopy and sent my case off down the conveyor belt without any flight tags or details on it! Now that was a nerve-racking flight, I was filled with relief when my case appeared along with the rest of the flights! Thankfully I had a very distinctive case and was easily identifiable with the airport staff.

Never get caught out and make sure you only take 100ml or less liquid on the plane with you – there is nothing worse than getting you’re favorite moisturizer or foundation confiscated off you as its over 100 ml!
Another tip I have is invest in a clear plastic make up bag, it means you can keep all you’re beauty products together and saves messing around with those plastic bags while in the security que.
If you’re in doubt about what you can take on the plane with you check this handy luggage restrictions here. Things I make sure I take with me are make-up wet wipes, lip balm, hairbrush, sleep mask and chewing gum.

Love, Love, LOVE. Such a perfect outfit for travelling; casual yet not sluggish at all. AND if you were to get chilly on the plane; you can always use your kimono as a shawl along with your wooly socks in your nifty bag. AND I must add that I love your booties; they are perfect for this summer-fall transitional weather we are soon going to be undertaking. Happy travels girly! <3

Outfit for a plane is always an issue. I agree. And no matter what you put, after security control you look like a mess anyway… ohhhh… it’s so annoying. I also had two holiday already this year, I was back home in Poland. Now, in September I’m going to Barcelona, Spain. My bf reserved a room with terrace… hope he won’t propose!
