– DINNER DATE –
Lois and I met up for a dinner date, we headed to Tavern Steak & Oyster, located in the heart of the city just minutes walk from Bank station, so convenient for meeting after work. Tavern Steak & Oyster gives Londoners a true taste of a private members club, without the hefty annual club fees. They have succeeded in preserving the most worthwhile aspects of a traditional Club, whilst effectively responding to the demands of today’s business life. Tavern Steak & Oyster is situated in the prestigious London Capital Club on Abchurch Lane, EC4, offering a convivial atmosphere, warmth and classic charm with a clever mix of old and new.
I really appreciated the styling at Tavern Steak & Oyster; it’s the perfect bend of traditional alongside modern stylish. We had a lovely evening dining in the restaurant, with S uch a tempting menu. To start I went with a Burrata and Lois had the Ham hock terrine. Whilst waiting for our food to arrive we chatted over the drinks menu with our host. He asked us about which spirits and flavours we liked and the mixologist created us two very special cocktails. Lois had a Pina Colada and I decided on Gin with a fruity syrup, oh boy! they were delicious, as were our starters, really yummy.
Before long our (very strong) second cocktails arrived, alongside the main course. We both chose steak, Lois went for the Fillet, she likes it pink and juicy, so had it cooked medium-rare,along with a peppercorn sauce. I chose the Flat Iron and as I’m a bit of a wimp about red meat, I like it cooked well done, which I know is sacrilegious to most of you, but we are all individuals, so embrace it people! I decided on a Béarnaise sauce accompaniment. We enjoyed our steaks and the perfect crispy hand cut chips and side salad. This meal was such a yummy mid week treat, plus it was fun catching up with Lois in such lovely environment.
Such great food and attentive service, would say its well worth a visit!
