img_1730With party season in full swing and with it soon to be NYE, I thought I’d share my festive make-up look I’ve been rocking to all my party’s this season.img_1721Flawless Skin –
I treated myself to the ‘how to look the best at everything palette’ from Benefit as a little Christmas present to myself, I’m loving the foundation and think I need to invest in a full size bottle!
After I’ve moisturised my face, I then use the Pore professional as a primer, then applying a thin layer of fountain, the next step is concealer and hide any blemishes, finishing off with a light dusting of powder under my eyes and a long my nose – trying to avoid any heavily spotty areas as I find powder clings and will dry out this area.img_1723Defined Cheek Bones –
Next step is blusher & in this case a little contouring – I’m very new to contouring, but it’s pretty fun giving it ago and creating more definition to my cheek bones. Now I’m no expert but I start with a angled brush and the darkest shade in the palette, remembering to suck in my cheeks and following the natural hollow line of the cheeks, then I use the lighter shade and follow the same line, next I use the larger brush to blend these in and finally applying blusher to the apples of my cheeks. I’ve found some great articles online with images to reference for the perfect party face, also this great guide to contouring using the same palette I used.
To finish of the cheeks I dab and blend in a small amount of high beam, you can also use this on you’re brow bones, nose line and cupids bow.img_1724For Eye’s That Sparkle –
I’m not usually one for eyes and instead usually opt for lips, however as I’m going for full glam I’m giving my eyes a dusting of shimmer in the form of these golden shades, a smudge of pencil and a coating of mascara.
Starting with the oyster gold shades in the small corner of my eyes nearest the nose, blending in with the darker shades in the far corners and adding a line of eyeliner. Remember to curl those lashes and when applying mascara curl the brush at the same.img_1725Luscious Lips –
Finally the finishing touch with a swipe of red lip stick. I’ve opted for matte as I think it gives the perfect vintage touch to the look.

So much great makeup! How do you find the coverage of the Benefit foundation?

    • December 22, 2015 / 8:35 pm

I’m not a big one for wearing foundation and only like light weight coverage over my skin and then use concealer when and where it’s needed. I really like it and this was a good way to test it out but if you like a thick amount of foundation it might not be the one for you. Over all I’d recommend it 👍🏻😊

How does the Chanel complexion powder compare with similar highstreet powders? Rimmel Stay Matte & L’Oreal Infallible etc.

    • December 23, 2015 / 5:24 pm

I haven’t tried those high street equivalents but compared to MAC it’s much better but one powder that I find can’t be beaten for quality or prize is natural collections pressed powder, and at a mere £1.99 you can’t go wrong! I use this Chanel one while out and about for touch ups and to combat shine.
Have you tried any high street versions, what’s your verdict any recommendations?

Good job I didn’t buy mac like usual then! I’ve tried Clinique Loose Powder but it’s too dark for me in shade “invisible”! My mum loves Clarin’s Ever Matte powder – Rimmel works well for shine but is a bit too cakey for me! I was going to try Laura Mercier translucent powder next – but may check out Chanel first. I love their Inimitable mascara!
