I was lucky enough to be invited down to The Kings Canary, a beautiful salon in the heart of central London. I was treated to a good old pampering, slightly a shamed of my unruly locks, due to the fact that I either cut my hair myself or just don’t get it cut till its to wild. It’s just since being in London I’ve struggled to find a hair dressers worth paying the outrageous cost or one that understood my hair type and that I felt comfortable in.
Let me tell you about the salon –
The Kings Canary is a new hair salon co-owned by Gavin & Stanley. The salon has a modern meets vintage vibe. With a gents barbers at one end, including stags heads on the walls and amazing sinks, where gents can get traditional wet shaves. The waiting area consist of an eclectic mix of the hottest fashion magazines for him & her. Displayed beautifully on reclaimed scaffolding turned into a table and bench. With the prettiest flowers and a cheeky bowl of sweeties to nibble on while waiting.
There were so many pretty things to look at in this salon, this display cabinet housed all the products on sale and is an old post office sorting unit. It’s these rustic elements mixed with the modern lighting and the hair booths each with their own colours, that match the pallet of the canary logo. It’s these little touches that make this salon so stylish.Once my cut was complete and scissors downed, I joined Stanley and Gavin for a drink. I opted for the classic fizzy and the gents had a beer, I then grabbed my camera and got snap happy. It was great getting to know the gents behind the Kings Canary and I’ve finally found a hair dressers I’d happily part with my money in London… It’s only taken two years!!For my hair cut I was a little boring and I opted for a tidy up with more layers and much needed fringe cut. I even came away with some goodies, the shampoo is making my hair so soft and shiny! If your about London Town and in need of a spruce up, I would highly recommend popping along to The Kings Canary.
