Today Claire & I took Madhu from Loose Threads to our local vintage store Cow, Madhu isn’t a lover of vintage like us but no one can resist a little mooch around racks and I mean racks full to the brim of second hand goodness. We thought it’d be fun to choose a couple of looks each for Madhu to try on, in a hope of converting her into a vintage goddess. Here’s how we got on… I think rather successfully.
Outfit One –
I chose this bold colourful playsuit, Madhu love’s play/jump suits but doesn’t own any. So I thought it’d be fun showing her vintage and second hand ones are a cheaper alternative from the high street. I think the bold colours and print looks fab, a real statement piece.
Claire chose this cool 80’s inspired look, I love the white accessories just check out that bag. This is a very Claire inspired look, I can just imagine her rocking outfit, especially with her new ginger hair!
Outfit Three –
I chose this cute summer dress, I was drawn to the heart shaped neckline, the print and the sheer pretty delightful-ness of this dress. I really like the simple but effective purple accessories with this dress, they are fun with the huge wicker bag, perfect for a day on the beach or a city chic lunch date. I think Madhu looks great in this dress and should so have brought it. Hurry back quickly and snap it up.
Outfit Four –
This lovely outfit is chosen by Claire, I love these colours on Madhu and think they pop and really suit her fun personality. I love the print its so bold, colourful and loads of fun. It’s perfect for summer but with its dashes of black it could easily be paired with dark tights for winter, I think this is a winning outfit!!
We really enjoyed out vintage dressing up session, I hope we’ve converted Madhu into vintage fashion or at least given her some colourful clothing ideas and get her out of all the dark black clothes she wears. She looks fab in colour and in these vintage outfits, I think my favorite are the last two! Pop over to Madhu’s blog Loose Threads for a more journalistic write up and general great fashion and none fashion related reads. (she;s great at writing interesting articles!)
On a side note, Claire has a really cool vintage website opening up shortly, she has a fab vintage stall called Mad Elizabeth which you can check out at local flea markets and big vintage fairs and Brick Lane in coming weeks. Soon as more details arrive I will point to in her direction. The web site has an online store, exciting times!!!
